Dr Orlay has been in specialist anaesthetic practice for over 25 years, including at the Prince of Wales and Sydney Children's Hospitals; both renowned tertiary referral centres for complex surgical problems. During that time he has cared for tens of thousands of patients of all ages and sizes, in all states of health. Dr Orlay has also worked in the UK, North America, Asia and the South Pacific as well as in the Northern Territory of Australia. He has trained a large number of junior anaesthetists and nurses.

Since the very first days of activity at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital, Dr Orlay has been heavily involved in providing expert anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery. He has worked closely with Dr Ling and his team from the first days of Dr Ling's practice. Together with Dr Ling and the team, he is dedicated to providing the best in care for all of our patients.

Dr Kieran Somerville grew up in Sydney and pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Biomedical Engineering, graduating with first-class honours, before transitioning to Graduate Medicine at the University of Sydney. He completed his anaesthetic training at Prince of Wales Hospital, followed by a fellowship focusing on paediatric anaesthesia at both Prince of Wales and Sydney Children’s Hospitals.

Since completing his anaesthetic training in 2017, Dr. Somerville has served as a Visiting Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Hornsby Hospital, and The Northern Beaches Hospital. He is highly regarded for his expertise in paediatric and general adult anaesthesia, ensuring safe and effective care for patients across various surgical specialties.

Tim graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2013 after completing degrees in medical science (Hons I) and medicine. He completed his internship and residency years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital before working as a sports and exercise medicine registrar. During this time, he worked in sports medicine clinics in Balmain and Miranda and provided medical care for the Cronulla Sharks and Newtown Jets rugby league teams, as well as Basketball Australia’s U19s men and women teams. He attained a graduate certificate in sports medicine from the University of Queensland in 2021.

Tim has worked as an orthopaedic surgical assistant since 2018. During this time, he has worked across a wide range of orthopaedic specialities, with a particular interest in lower limb and spinal surgery. He currently works full-time with orthopaedic surgeons at Prince of Wales Private Hospital, East Sydney Private Hospital and St Vincent’s Private Hospital. He has worked with Dr Ling since 2019.

Jarryd graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2013 after completing his undergraduate medical degree. After working at Royal North Shore Hospital as a junior medical officer and then as a junior orthopaedic registrar, in 2018 he decided to pursue other avenues and interests whilst working full-time as a surgical assistant. He enjoys the practical challenges and the added diversity of caseload in the operating theatre environment. Jarryd works predominantly in spinal and lower limb surgery, spending his time working with orthopaedic and neurosurgeons at North Shore Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital and Sydney Surgical Centre.

Outside of surgery, Jarryd spends his time running, rowing, rock-climbing and reading; he is a sampler of fine spirits, a rugby/AFL/Football/F1 tragic and a proud owner of Sierra, an Australian shepherd.
